The Starting Point

One day, an employee contacted us through the Health Line. 
On the other end of the line is Ms. J., in tears. She vaguely remembered that a support service existed within her company and simply says: « I need to talk. »  

For several years, she has been living with a serious illness, undergoing intensive treatment and facing a succession of challenges. She is raising her children alone while working in a profession that is emotionally demanding. She has held on for a long time — a very long time — despite the fatigue and the pressure

Step by step

Our specialist begins by listening. Without judgment. Without interruption. 

Then, gently, she helps Ms. J. reflect on what comes next. How can she find a solution that respects her health? How can she envision a more suitable professional future? 

Her current job is demanding, both physically and emotionally. Continuing in the same way may not be the only option.  

The specialist suggests contacting her disability insurance advisor to arrange a meeting. The goal: to discuss a more suitable position, retraining opportunities, or other supportive measures. 

Ms. J. is surprised. She thought she had to face everything alone and was unaware that support mechanisms could be activated to help her move toward a more appropriate alternative. 

As the conversation continues, her voice changes. She breathes more calmly. Things become clearer. Concrete first steps begin to take shape. And most importantly, she realises that she has the right to seek a solution that protects her health. 

The path traveled 

At the end of the call, she says calmly:   

« You helped me regain my peace of mind. You gave me a boost. »  

Sometimes, everything begins with a simple phone call.  

Being on the way, means supporting someone at a difficult moment in their life. Helping them see solutions where they once saw no way forward. And allowing them to move ahead, step by step, until they can once again see the road before them.
